How do you find new stories to read when Amazon is confused by your reading habits?
What if you don’t want to pick just one genre? What if you love contemporary romance AND Tolkien-esque epic fantasy? Deductive mysteries AND space thrillers?
Finding well-written stories that inspire you, that make you excited to be involved in your own community can be challenging. Recommendation algorithms are designed to show you new books that are significantly similar to books you’ve previously purchased. Unfortunately, they don’t always work when you read many types of fiction and non-fiction.
If you prefer to read books in print rather than on an e-reader, this problem can be even harder.
Our goal is to connect readers, authors, and booksellers through story.
What does that mean? It means we search for good stories that have been excellently written, to share with you. We read them first, and we only recommend stories that are worth your valuable time.
We all love different types of stories. Sometimes we read to escape. Sometimes we read to be inspired. Sometimes we read to learn something new. Authors have experience writing stories, but they don’t necessarily have experience matching their stories to the individuals who will resonate with their work. We help authors find readers who will love their stories. We all want our favorite authors to write more stories we can read, and nothing is better than discovering a new favorite.
Bookstores and libraries can foster in-person connection, connections that are increasingly difficult to make due to the widespread use of digital communication. Studies have shown that when our only social contact happens through a screen, we are more likely to be depressed, stressed, and dissatisfied with our lives. When you talk about your favorite stories with others, you can make friends for life. Stories are how we share our values. Stories are the building blocks of strong, adaptable communities. When you ask someone about their favorite story, they light up. We help bookstores understand the relationship between readers like you and the stories you love.Readers Authors & Writers Booksellers & Librarians
